Experts say that baseball is the most challenging sport mentally for an athlete. Teams in the MLB are starting to recognize this.  In 2018, well over half of the teams employed a “mental skills coach,” according to USA Today . There is an old quote from baseball legend Yogi Berra that says, “baseball is 90% mental, the other half is physical,” and this seems to be the case/ Renowned mental coach Allen Jaeger wrote a piece for Elite Baseball Performance . His reasoning behind baseball being the most mentally challenging is that he claims there is more dead time than in any other sport. In football, there is a 40-second play clock before the ball has to be snapped, and in basketball, the shot clock is only 24 seconds. Thus the more time for anxiety to set in and mistakes to be harped on leads to dramatic drops in performance that can last weeks or longer. The numbers support this hypothesis. Those familiar with the situation know that the franchise has hired a new Head Coach, Frank Reich. Reich has started building his staff, beginning with the defensive coordinator, yet this is different from the question that has filled most of the fanbase. The question that I and many others are asking revolves around the quarterback. We want to know if Reich is willing to go get the next franchise guy in the draft or if he is looking at some veterans on the free agent and trade market.  Looking at the article above,  CBS Sports  has the Panthers unable to move up from the 9th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and being left with Florida quarterback prospect Anthony Richardson. Richardson is who I have personally ranked 4th at his position behind Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, and Will Levis. Taking Richardson at 9 would be a draft disaster....

Summer of 2018     The summer of 2018 was the most impactful summer of my life to this date.  As an athlete, I had never taken a summer off in my entire life. Every summer, it was traveling around every weekend for baseball tournaments. Between tournaments, summers consisted of being in the gym, in the cage, and later in life summer football practices. I never complained because it was what I wanted to do. I loved to train, and even more, I loved competing, and I still do. This summer was so special because I could no longer do these things. That spring, I had completely broken my foot and had surgery to repair it. The expected recovery time was roughly six to eight weeks, but I was determined to make it back for spring football. Three weeks later, I was in full contact practice running, hitting, and jumping on my foot. Still, as one could expect, I quickly re-aggravated the injury.
